LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Attorney General Aaron Ford said Nevadans deserve a leader who will look out for the entirety of the Nevada family.
Ford, a Democrat, is running for governor. He said his vision of the Nevada family includes anyone who lives in the state, regardless of how long they have been here or their background.
“You could have been here for three generations or for three days,” Ford said. “If you live in Nevada, you’re part of the Nevada family and I represent you.”
Ford said the Nevada family includes single parents and married couples, people of all races and ethnicities, and people regardless of sexual orientation.
Nevada family vision
Ford said his approach requires leaders to ensure that everybody in the Nevada family has the ability to not just survive, but to thrive.
“You could be married with two and a half kids or a single parent with three kids,” he said. “If you live in Nevada, you’re part of the Nevada family and you deserve representation.”
Ford said the state includes Black, white, Latino, Asian and Native American residents who all deserve someone who will look out for them.
“You could be gay or straight. It doesn’t matter,” he said. “If you live in Nevada, you’re part of the Nevada family.”
Affordability crisis
Ford said the state is living in the midst of an affordability crisis that the Lombardo-Trump economy has brought upon residents.
He said he will be the individual who will lower housing prices, lower health care prices and focus on ensuring that energy costs are appropriate.
Ford said he will hold corporations accountable to ensure that everybody in the Nevada family can not just survive, but thrive.
Top issues
Ford said affordability is the top issue he is hearing from people.
“Health care is too expensive, housing is too expensive, gas prices are too expensive, groceries are too expensive, energy prices are too expensive,” he said.
Ford said voters want someone who is going to focus on them and not on big corporate donors and billionaires who are driving the agenda that is making life unaffordable in the state.
