LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A coalition of immigrant-rights and antiwar activists are planning a protest in downtown Las Vegas, calling for “Justice for Lorenzo and Joan” and an end to what they describe as “ICE terror.”

The Las Vegas branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation is organizing a vigil and protest for Saturday, July 18, outside the Clark County Detention Center, located at 330 S. Casino Center Blvd.

The action is set to begin at 7 p.m.

Organizers say they are rallying in support of Lorenzo and Joan, two immigrants whose cases they argue highlight abuses in the federal immigration detention system.

A flyer shared on social media urges supporters to “Stop ICE Terror” and demands the release of Lorenzo and Joan.

It also calls attention to broader issues surrounding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, including deportations and detention conditions.

Speakers are expected to include local activists and organizers with the Party for Socialism and Liberation and allied groups.

Participants are being encouraged to bring signs, wear masks if needed, and be prepared for a peaceful evening protest and vigil outside the jail.
