LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Mary Klein found her mother, 86-year-old Song Kim Bartley, in Las Vegas after searching for her for 32 years.
Klein’s friend, Jeanie Inglis, helped her search the streets of Las Vegas for nearly a week looking for Bartley.
“She just felt like it was just this movie that was just gonna go on and on and on with, um, you know, just so much hurt and pain and trauma,” Inglis said. “And I said, I promised Mary on Monday. I said, Mary, I promise you we’re gonna find your mom.”
Search leads to reunion
“It was a miracle,” Inglis said. “We’d been praying so much.”
Song was found safe at the Bonneyview Transit Station with help from Las Vegas Metro Police.
“You know, the initial news broadcast absolutely helped,” Inglis said. “We got some really great tips, strong tips.”
Klein and Inglis said they were thankful for the police and for the compassion of homeless people living on the streets where they searched.
“And one thing I kept hearing from homeless people were that, that, you know, Song was so lucky that she had a daughter so dedicated to finding her after all of this time,” Inglis said.
Family reunited
Bartley has three grandchildren she will meet for the first time.
“And she has three grandchildren that she’s gonna meet for the first time,” Inglis said. “And that’s pretty exciting.”
Klein took her mother to a hotel, where they had dinner and conversation. They are now traveling back to Florida, Klein’s home state.
