LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A man is dead after crashing into a sign in the south valley earlier this month.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a crash on West Hacienda Avenue near South Decatur Boulevard on Wednesday, May 1 around 10:38 p.m. Arriving officers determined that a motorcycle was traveling east on Hacienda, and the rider failed to maintain control as he approached a curve.
The motorcycle would strike a raised median, resulting in the rider being separated from the bike and striking a street post sign. He was immediately transported to the hospital by arriving first responders.
On May 8, the Clark County Coroner informed LVMPD that the motorcyclist had died in the hospital.
“The rider’s death marks the 66th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2024,” LVMPD noted in a release.
