LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Clark County District Attorney’s Office announced the launch of its first Citizens Academy, a community engagement program designed to give residents an inside look at how the office works.
The multi-session academy will offer participants a behind-the-scenes look at the justice system and the role the District Attorney’s Office plays in seeking justice, supporting victims and promoting public safety.

Participants will hear directly from district attorneys, investigators and professional staff.
The academy will provide an overview of the work handled by the Criminal, Civil, Juvenile and Family Support Divisions. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and take part in conversations.
The Citizens Academy is designed to be interactive and engaging, offering participants opportunities for questions, real-world examples and hands-on learning experiences.
Aspiring participants must be at least 21 years of age, live in Clark County and agree to and pass a background check, including fingerprinting. The program is open to business, civic, faith and community leaders, or any resident interested in learning more about the DA’s Office.
The Citizens Academy will be held every Tuesday from 5–8 p.m. for seven consecutive weeks. Session dates are Sept. 15, 22, 29, and Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27. Dinner will be provided.
Applications open May 18 and will remain available for 30 days. Interested residents can apply through the Clark County District Attorney’s Office website.
Space is limited, and participants will be selected through an application process.
