LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Nicole Cannizzaro, who is running for Nevada attorney general, said she is the only candidate in the race bringing the experience of a seasoned prosecutor.

The primary election is almost here.

Prosecutorial and legal experience

Cannizzaro said she has nearly 11 years of prosecutorial experience, most of that in the gang unit at the Clark County District Attorney’s Office, and experience as a civil litigator.

“Where I have been able to take on tough cases, where I’ve been able to win in court, and where I know what it means to put a case together, walk into a courtroom, and win,” she said.

Legislative record

She also pointed to her 10 years in the legislature fighting for Nevadans on issues ranging from reproductive health care to voting rights to keeping communities safe.

“And investing across the board in health care, education, jobs. Those are important pieces for the attorney general’s office,” she said.

Role of attorney general

Cannizzaro said the attorney general will work with every facet of state government on policy issues, fight tough battles to protect Nevadans’ rights and work to put together cases for consumer protection and public safety.

“You need somebody who has the experience to get that job done. And I’m the only person in this race that has the experience to do that job on day one at the attorney general’s office,” she said.
