LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Caesars Palace will host a world-record motorcycle jump attempt on May 17 to celebrate the grand opening of OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar and the resort’s 60th anniversary.

Colby Raha, a 12-time X Games medalist and world-record holder, will attempt to jump more than 100 feet vertically across the Caesars Palace Front Fountains. The jump will take place at 2 p.m. at the same location where Evel Knievel attempted his jump in 1967.

Raha founded Record Breakers and will attempt to beat his own record for World’s Highest Motorcycle Jump at 100 feet.

The jump caps off a three-day grand opening weekend for OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar, a 46,000-square-foot entertainment complex on Las Vegas Boulevard. The opening weekend runs May 15-17 and features sets from Fisher, Rüfüs du Sol and Martin Garrix.

“OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar is already setting a new standard for what Las Vegas daylife can be, and there’s no better way to announce that to the world than with Colby Raha launching over the same fountains that made Evel Knievel a legend,” said Tao Group Hospitality Co-CEO Jason Strauss.

Tao Group Hospitality operates the venue in partnership with Caesars Palace.

The Caesars Palace Front Fountains are the site of Knievel’s 1967 jump attempt. Members of the Knievel family are supporting the event.

“Over the last 60 years, Caesars Palace has orchestrated iconic events that have resonated across the globe, cementing the resort’s role as leading player in Las Vegas’ rise to one of the most visited destinations in the world,” said Sean McBurney, chief commercial officer and regional president of Caesars Entertainment.

Raha’s jump will be visible above OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar, giving the opening weekend crowd a view from within the venue.

“Attempting a jump at the same location where Evel Knievel made his historic attempt carries real meaning,” said Raha. “It’s an opportunity to push limits at one of the most iconic locations in stunt history at one of the most iconic resorts in Las Vegas.”

The entertainment complex connects to OMNIA Nightclub via a bridge, creating a combined 121,000 square feet of space.
