LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The UNLV basketball family is mourning this week, after the program announced the passing of Runnin’ Rebels legend Jarvis Basnight.
He was one of the core members of the 1987 Final Four team under Hall of Fame Head Coach Jerry Tarkanian. Basnight led the Runnin’ Rebels in rebounds and block shots in 1988 on his way to a first-team All-Big West selection.
He ranks no. two on the programs all-time career field goal percentage list, finishing his career shooting over 60%.
