LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — An armed man pointing guns at passing vehicles in the east valley has prompted multiple schools nearby to secure their campuses Thursday morning, police say.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the area of Hollywood Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive around 8:06 a.m. after receiving reports of the armed man.
Police say he was last seen walking into the desert area and units are attempting to locate him.
Schools surrounding the area, including Harney Middle School and Jenkins Elementary School have been placed on “secure”, which means their doors have been locked.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
