LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A local video production company is reaping the rewards of being connected with the NFL during Super Bowl week.
“All of a sudden, we got a rush of jobs that came in,” Richard DePaso, Managing Director of Aardvark Video, told FOX5 Friday. “You’ve got all these people calling you, and now we have to schedule things and get people scheduled, so it’s very, very hectic.”
After starting his company in New York in 1987, DePaso moved out to Las Vegas at the start of the new century.
“Out here, when the Arena League Las Vegas Gladiators were in town, we worked for them, making highlight videos,” he reminisced.
Just over a year ago, DePaso applied for, and got into, the NFL’s Business Connect program.
“I see many opportunities to work with the people I met in Business Connect,” DePaso said. “As a matter of fact, we’re doing that already.”
The networking available to DePaso has been a huge benefit.
“There are things they’re doing that we can come across that we can send to them, and they can come across things that they don’t do, but that require us,” he explained. “The more synergy you have in this town, the more people you know – that’s a big plus.”
Aardvark Video was one of 200 local businesses chosen out of more than 700 applicants to be part of the Business Connect program.
