LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a park in the southeast valley, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced Monday.
Michael Tate was taken into custody June 8 and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with the use of a deadly weapon.

The shooting occurred June 4 at approximately 8:39 a.m. in the 4900 block of Lana Drive. LVMPD Communications received a report of gunfire heard coming from the area.
Patrol officers arrived and located a man at a park in the area suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The officers immediately began rendering aid. Medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to a hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The LVMPD Homicide Section responded to the scene. During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim and another man were near a picnic table in the park when they started arguing.
During the argument, the suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim. He then fled from the area, police say.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify Tate as the suspect.
The identification of the decedent, as well as the cause and manner of death, can be obtained through the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
