LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada Department of Transportation will implement overnight lane reductions and ramp closures on Sunset Road and Airport Connector as part of an ongoing pavement rehabilitation project.

The restrictions are necessary for paving operations, bridge deck repair and overlay work, and overhead sign installation. No lane restrictions are scheduled during the Memorial Day holiday weekend to accommodate holiday travel.

Scheduled closures and restrictions

24 hours daily beginning Tuesday evening, May 19, through Friday morning, May 22:

Southbound Airport Connector ramp to eastbound I-215 reduced to one lane.

11 p.m. Tuesday, May 19 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 20:

Southbound Airport Connector ramp to westbound I-215 closed. Traffic detoured onto Hidden Well Road west to Las Vegas Boulevard to access I-215 ramps.

Nightly (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) Wednesday, May 20 to Monday, June 1:

Southbound Airport Connector reduced to one lane. Sunset Road ramp to southbound Airport Connector closed. Fully open on weekends and Memorial Day holiday.

24 hours daily beginning Monday evening, May 25, through Friday morning, May 29:

Southbound Airport Connector ramp to eastbound I-215 reduced to one lane.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through work zones and take alternate detour routes, if possible. NDOT works with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
