LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada Department of Transportation wants input on how rural transit money is spent across the state.
Federal funds support rural rides
NDOT says rural bus and shuttle systems provide well over half a million rides a year, using Federal Transit Administration dollars to connect people, including older adults, veterans and those with disabilities, to jobs, doctors, schools, shopping and other essential stops.

The agency is updating its state management plan, which sets out the rules for how those federal funds are handed out to public, tribal and private transit agencies. The plan must stay in line with federal regulations.
How to comment
The draft plan is posted at dot.nv.gov under the “Mobility” and “Transit Plans” section. Nevadans can email or call in comments through Sept. 30, but NDOT says feedback should focus on how the money is administered, not on complaints about specific routes or services.
