LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A pedestrian was struck and killed near Resorts World early Wednesday, and a driver was detained at the scene on suspicion of impairment, according to police.
Officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Sammy Davis Jr. Drive and Resorts World Drive. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
A driver was detained at the scene as part of an impairment investigation. Police did not release additional details about the driver.
A Fatal Detail unit responded to the scene. Roads in the area were expected to remain closed for an extended period of time.
