LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas police are warning residents about a surge of convincing scam calls that threaten arrest over supposed missed court dates or jury duty.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department say they received multiple reports on Monday regarding scam phone calls in which callers claim the victim will be arrested for missing court or jury duty.

Police warn the scammers may use the names of real officers to sound legitimate.
LVMPD advises people not to send money or share personal information, and to hang up and verify the claim directly with LVMPD or the courts.
