LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — One of the dogs allegedly abused at Working Dogs of Nevada is getting a second chance at a new training facility.
Sarge, formerly known as “Marmaduke,” is receiving the behavioral training his owner was seeking at Working Dogs. He is now at Norton Dog Training in south Las Vegas.
Brad Norton, who owns the business, says Sarge is very clingy and unsure. He will spend the next few weeks learning to interact with people and other dogs, and that the world isn’t as scary as he thinks it is.

“He’s going to understand that humans aren’t out to kill him like he currently believes,” Norton said. “We will teach him the fundamentals. He’ll sit down, stay, all that good stuff. We’re going to teach him how to walk properly on a leash, off leash, and we’re going to teach him public access. We’re going to teach him how to be a dog in a human world with tons of confidence.”
Norton says much of the cost of Sarge’s training is covered thanks to a fundraising effort that started on Facebook. So far, it has raised about $1,500.
“We can’t wait to see what this dog turns into,” Norton said.
