LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A theft suspect has barricaded themselves in a motorhome, closing southbound I-15.

Shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday, North Las Vegas Police Department officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at a business on the 15000 block of Apex Power Parkway.

According to a preliminary report, while officers were responding to the scene, the suspect left, southbound on US93—in a motorhome. Police found the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on it.

The motorhome came to a stop, southbound on I-15 at the Lamb Blvd. overpass. At this time of the police report, the suspect was refusing to come out of the vehicle.

As a precaution and to keep the scene safe, all southbound and northbound travel lanes of I-15 have been closed in that area. This consists of I-15 between the CC 215 and Craig Rd. Nevada State Police are assisting the NLVPD with those closures.

Police have set up a command center at Lamb Blvd. This is an ongoing situation and police ask the community to avoid the area until the situation is resolved.
