LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The wife of ‘Ghost Adventures’ star Aaron Goodwin has been arrested after conspiring to commit her husband’s murder.
Victoria Goodwin is accused of communicating with a Florida prisoner to carry out the killing, documents said.
Officers with the Florida Department of Corrections contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on March 6 about conversations inmate Grant Amato had with Victoria Goodwin while behind bars. The Florida prison said he used a prohibited cell phone to text the reality TV star’s wife.
According to an arrest report obtained by FOX5, Amato was in touch with a man who would ultimately be the person to commit the murder.
The report shows text messages between Amato and Goodwin stating the two were “in love” and that Goodwin’s husband “would not accept the divorce.”
Goodwin told Amato via text specifically where Aaron would be staying in the Barstow, California area. Amato relayed it to the man hired. Police say Goodwin and Amato had $11,515 set aside for the hitman “when the job is finished.”
On March 4, the Florida Office of Inspector General was notified of the plot. The report said the office tracked down Amato and Goodwin from usernames and phone numbers used to communicate.
The same day Florida officials reached out to Las Vegas police, they acquired a search warrant for the Goodwin’s home.
Victoria Goodwin interviewed with detectives, and told them she had become aware of Grant Amato “through a true crime documentary and began writing to him.” She described their relationship as pen pals, beginning in May of 2024. She explained at the time of the text messages with Amato, she and Aaron were going through “problems in their marriage.” She further described being lonely and began connecting with Amato.
Goodwin was eventually confronted about the texts soliciting and conspiring to murder Aaron. The report said she denied wanting her husband to be killed. She described herself as sometimes “daydreaming of being in a different situation,” but at the time of the detective interrogation she did not feel that way any longer. She also stated she did not remember sending those particular messages.
Based on the evidence, including the texts laying out “payment plans, location, anticipation, and nothing done to stop the plan once in motion,” Victoria Goodwin was arrested and charged with solicitation and conspiracy to commit murder.
She will be in court for a preliminary hearing on March 25.
