LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Jack Eichel scored in overtime to send the Vegas Golden Knights back to the Stanley Cup playoffs, clinching a postseason spot for the eighth time in nine seasons.
Eichel’s overtime goal — his 26th of the season — came against the Colorado Avalanche, the NHL’s top team. The win secured Vegas a playoff berth with two regular-season games remaining.
The Golden Knights close the regular season at home, hosting Winnipeg on Monday and Seattle on Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena.
Vegas can still improve its postseason position. Two more wins would guarantee the Golden Knights open the first round at home.
