LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Mayor Shelley Berkley said the city is mourning after a deadly workplace shooting that left a Las Vegas city employee dead and another employee facing charges.

Berkley said the city is grieving alongside the family and co-workers of Joey McLean and is offering support to employees affected by the shooting.

“Needless to say, this has been a difficult and challenging week for the city,” Berkley said. “And for those employees that worked with these two men or knew them, it’s been particularly difficult. We’ve offered psychological services. If anybody is having a hard time dealing with this, we want to do everything we can to ease our employees’ pain.”

Las Vegas police said the shooting followed a fight between city co-workers. Investigators continue to look into the case as the city cooperates with detectives and the matter moves through the court system.
