LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police are investigating after a pedestrian crossing S. Nellis Blvd. was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night.

According to a police report, the pedestrian was struck outside of a marked crosswalk on the 4500 block of S. Nellis at approximately 8:25 p.m. The driver fled the scene.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. LVMPD fatal detectives are responding to the scene to investigate. Police said that the street will be closed for several hours, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
