LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police responded to the scene of a deadly crash Friday night on US-95 southbound, south of W. Lake Mead Blvd.

According to a police report, officers responded at approximately 5:43 p.m. and learned that a motorcycle was traveling southbound on the freeway and crashed into an SUV in front of it. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead due to injuries suffered in the crash.

The driver of the SUV remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police said that speeding is suspected to be a factor in this crash. As of just before 7 p.m., NSP reported that US-95 southbound lanes are closed at Lake Mead Blvd. Partial lanes were expected to reopen shortly after 7:30 p.m.
