LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — New York-New York is bringing back a big-time eating competition to the Las Vegas Strip.
The resort is hosting an official Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest qualifier as part of its “America Two-Fifty Bridge Bash” on the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s set for the Fourth of July and could send a local competitor all the way to Coney Island.
Contest details
New York-New York Hotel and Casino said the hot dog eating contest will run from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 4, right on its iconic Brooklyn Bridge.
The event is now an official Major League Eating contest and is a qualifier for a spot in next year’s Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating competition at Coney Island on July 4, 2027.
Family-friendly festivities
Guests can show up starting at 3 p.m. for family-friendly fun, including $2.50 food and drink specials, oversized games, face painting, live music and more. The party continues into the night, with a fireworks show planned for 9 p.m.
Those interested in competing can apply to take part through majorleagueeating.com. More details on the “America Two-Fifty Bridge Bash” are online at newyorknewyork.mgmresorts.com.
Organizers said the qualifier is open to serious competitive eaters, but also to first-timers who want to test their limits on the Fourth of July.
