LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Officers are urging the community to celebrate the Fourth of July safely after nearly 500 boxes of illegal fireworks were seized Thursday.
Officials said 498 boxes of professional-use-only fireworks were found in illegal possession, resulting in one arrest.
Police reminded residents that fireworks purchased from licensed stands are legal, but professional-grade fireworks are not.
They also warn that illegal fireworks can cause serious injuries, spark fires, damage property, and put entire neighborhoods at risk.
