LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Southern Nevada Health District is rolling out its first virtual diabetes classes in Spanish.

The free program is led by trained health educators and offers practical tools, nutrition tips, and support to help people manage diabetes and avoid serious complications.

The Spanish-language virtual classes will be held on Microsoft Teams on June 22 and 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants need to attend both sessions.

The health district also offers English diabetes self-management classes, both virtual and in-person, with sessions scheduled for June 3, 10, and 17, also from 10 a.m. to noon.

The classes are open to people with diabetes, prediabetes, those at high risk, and caregivers.

To sign up for the Spanish classes, go to the health district’s online registration form. For English classes, call the health district or fill out the diabetes self-management interest form on its website.
