LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — UNLV leaders presented an update Wednesday to the Las Vegas City Council on UNLV @ Civic Plaza, a proposed downtown satellite campus at the city’s Civic Center and Plaza.

If approved, the project would create a permanent, public-facing UNLV presence alongside key civic and workforce partners, including the City of Las Vegas, Nevada Workforce Connections, the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office, and the Vegas Chamber.

A briefing paper shared with the Board of Regents last week says plans include a centralized “Rebel One Stop” offering student services such as admissions, financial aid, registration and advising, along with career support like resume help, professional development workshops and a free digital headshot booth.

Proposed programming also includes workforce-focused certificates and microcredentials, continuing legal education and legal clinics through the William S. Boyd School of Law, which includes a small business support through the Nevada Small Business Development Center, and a CyberClinic providing cybersecurity consulting and training.

UNLV officials said the goal is to expand access for adult learners, strengthen workforce pipelines, and support economic growth by connecting students, employers, city partners and residents across Southern Nevada.
