LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Smith’s grocery store on Silverado Ranch and Maryland Parkway remained closed Wednesday morning, the day after a gunman opened fire inside and killed a couple.
FOX5 crews in the area witnessed multiple people pulling up to the store and coming away confused when it was still closed.
Many said they were only learning about what happened after seeing the store blocked off by police tape.

Isaiah, a local resident who shops at the location regularly, said he drove by the store and saw the caution tape before learning what had happened.
“It’s not safe no more,” Isaiah said. “It’s kind of scary because I have nieces and nephews. My best friend lives in this area and this is her favorite store to shop at. It’s very nerve-wracking.”
Isaiah said he had been at the store just an hour before the incident occurred.
“For you to be able to shop and your life is in danger, it’s not fair,” he said. “It’s unreal at this point.”
Smith’s employees from other stores also arrived at the store to help with cleanup and the transfer of perishable items to other locations.
Several employees spoke with us saying they were just trying to focus on the work at hand and avoid thinking about the incident.
Multiple employees also expressed anxiety that such an incident could happen at any Smith’s location.
